Abstract:
This study aimed at investigating: (a) the level of job satisfaction of Greek preschool teachers (N=167), (b) the effects of demographic factors (e.g., age, marital status, education) on teachers' job satisfaction and (c) which of the demographic factors can predict job satisfaction. Results showed that their total job satisfaction was above the moderate level. Preschool teachers reported they were very satisfied with their General Supervisor and their job itself but dissatisfied with their prospect of promotion and pay. Age and level of education in a greater extent and marital status in a lesser extent were found to affect job satisfaction. Finally, level of education and age emerged as the most significant predictors of job satisfaction.
