Abstract:
In this article, self-actualization is examined as the main concept within the fairy tale either this is a traditional tale or the text-product of a more ingenious process. Apart from its philosophical and psychological background, the concept of self-actualization is looked at as an expression which mainly characterizes the personality and the practice of the basic hero. The main purpose of the research study is to explore/measure the extent to which each different genre of text (fairy tale) activates and exploits the children's inherent tendency to self- actualization. To this end, three different methods of collecting data are used. These are: a. the content analysis, b. the projective use of child drawings and c. interviews with children about their drawings.
