Abstract:
Father Demetrios Stratis offers to the reader two hitherto unpublished texts, in which St Athanassios of Paros treats some liturgical questions pertaining to Greek Orthodox ritual. Namely, in the first text he explains why it is legitimate for believers to keep in the houses the holy water of Epiphany, whilst in the second one he expresses his opinion about ritual kneeling during Pentecost. The author points out that St Athanassios evokes Holy Scripture, the writings of the Fathers of the Church and Eastern Orthodox tradition to fight against beliefs and practices stemming from superstition and ignorance.
