Hoard of grossi of 13th-14th century from Asomata Veroias

28 silver Venetian coins were found by chance in the quarter of Asomata at Véroia. They are grossi from the period 1253-1342 and constitute a form of hoard that is rare in northern Greece. This hoard reveals the penetration of the Venetians into the interior of the country and the confidence of Byzantine merchants in the Venetian coinage at that time.
