In December of 1976 three grave inscriptions ( nos. BE 1977/1, 2, 3 ) were found in Pella when the Water Company was digging trenches for a pipe line.The inscriptions, among the earliest ones discovered in Pella up until now, enrich our knowledge of the written sources about the city; in addition, the information about the graves of foreigners shows that Pella had a cosmopolitan society in the early 4th c. B.C.
