The paper examines the subject matter of the journal Laographia , the bulletin of the Hellenic Folklore Society, in term of relations between folklore and various related disciplines, such as sociology, social anthropology and ethnology. It also examines the spectacular shift of the journal to contemporary issues from 1974 onwards.
