Abstract:
The revetment of an icon of St Paraskeve of Rome with twelve scenes from her life and martyrdom is preserved in the Byzantine and Christian Museum with the inventory number BXM 1484. It is made of silver with partial gilding, dates to 1784 and has come from Asia Minor. Its iconography combines elements from the cycles of the homonymous saints from Iconium and from Epivates of Thrace. Stylistic similarities and relations to works from the Pontus lead to its attribution to a workshop of Pontus.
