The author undertakes a critical edition of a hitherto unpublished hymnological text of 11 th century scholar and poet Ioannis Mauropous, namely a Paracletic Can on (invocation for protection, help and salvation) dedicated to Archangel Michael. The Canon is preserved in Codex Vaticanus Palatinus gr. 138.
