Abstract:
By the end of the millennium the expression of the imagination had well legitimized its place within the language of science. That is, the language of science came close to literary diction and specialized knowledge started to become accessible to almost everyone. However, this positive acknowledgement has other parameters: most people are trapped by the way in which the new products of science are presented. The attractive expression (the alluring setting) is given prime importance, since it covers or reveals (!) expediencies. Each expediency brings forward the reason for its existence. A similar phenomenon can be observed in Literature and Fine Arts. New hybrid forms are continuously being constituted. This increased polymorphism of beauty has led to questions of what is art and what is not. Therefore, we have the right to seek the criterion for a new continuity. Our guide is the thought of Galen (2nd century A.D.). According to Galen there is beauty in nature and beauty in art. They exist because they are recognized by the logos in the human being. And the logos is art before the arts (τέχνη πρό τεχνών), the creator and the critic who continue civilization.
